  • Hostname
  • Operating system - Choose either Linux or Windows
  • Distribution - These are the different variation of the above Operating Systems
  • OS Template - These are the available templates for the choice of Distribution
  • Password - This is your assigned Linux "root" or Windows "administrator" password
  • RAM - Note the measurement being used is MegaByte (MB) therefore if you want to assign 4 GB of RAM, you will need to assign 4,096 MB of RAM.
  • CPU Cores - This is for the number of processing cores you want to assign your virtual machine. Note the maximum number of Cores per virtual machine is eight (8).
  • CPU Priority - This is the power level in which each CPU Core will operate. Note the maximum allowed percentage per Core is limited to 10% of our entire Cloud.
  • Disk Space - when assigning the total amount of storage to be used in the creation of your virtual machine, note that the size must include enough space for the Operation System installation.
  • Swap Disk Size - the recommended Swap Disk Size for Linux Server should be equal to double your RAM allocation.

5. Once you are satistified with your configuration, click Create new Virtual Machine.

The time it takes for your virtual machine to fully activate on DevHost Cloud does depend on the template choosen. Generally a virtual machine is fully functional within a couple minutes.

If is suggested that once your virtual machine has been activated, you should adjust your firewall settings.
